Seven Generations of Learning

The Wehrman family has been farming in Ohio since 1832 and has called our current farm home since 1905. Over the generations, our fields have seen nearly every kind of crop and livestock—reflecting the adaptability and resilience that define our family.

Innovation runs deep in our history. My great-great-grandfather was one of the first in the region to purchase a tractor. Years later, my grandfather, Albert Wehrman, took over the farm at just 16 years old and quickly made his mark. He was among the first in the area to hitch the planter to a tractor instead of horses—a daring move at the time—prompting neighbors to follow suit the very next year.

Through seven generations, we’ve weathered challenges and embraced change, always with the belief that farming is about more than just yields. Community and giving back have always been cornerstones of our work, and today, Wehrman Ag Services continues that tradition—blending time-tested stewardship with modern agronomic tools to help every acre, and every neighbor, thrive.

Adam Wehrman
Owner

In 2021, Adam graduated with a Masters in Agronomy from Purdue University.  During his masters, he thoroughly enjoyed teaching and following graduation, joined the Ag Technology faculty at Rhodes State College.  With a strong desire to further help local farmers, he signed on as an Independent Seed Sales Representative for Stine Seed in 2025, establishing Wehrman Ag Services.

Adam wants nothing more than to help farmers succeed.  That means putting the right seed on the right acre, and feeding it with ROI and soil health in mind.  As the 7th generation of Wehrmans farming in Ohio, he wants to continue the tradition of innovation and pass knowledge on to growers to help them maximize their potential.

Adam volunteers extensively with Scouting America, and enjoys being involved in the community.  He lives on the current Wehrman family farm with his wife, Madison, and their two kids.
